Although I grew up in a Christian home with rock solid parents and 2 awesome younger siblings, I never knew God on my own. When I hit college, I discovered that I had been living my faith through my family, not by my own accord. I wanted to have a personal relationship with God, but my views of Him had been distorted, twisted, and warped by the lies the enemy had planted on my heart. I was desperate for this relationship, so I left school in July 2010 and did Discipleship Training School with Youth With A Mission in Kona, Hawaii. I heard how the Lord used DTS to change people's hearts, and I knew I needed a heart change. It wasn't easy, but Jesus tore down my wrong views of Him, walls that I built up agains Him, and showed me what He was really like, which is sooo different than I had thought!
He has been doing a mighty work in my over the past 2 years, and I am now a girl who is totally in Love with my Savior, the same one I used to reject and ignore. I would not change this crazy life for anything else! My view of Him have shifted, my mind and heart are connected, and I am taking on life with Jesus as my guide :) I am now on staff with YWAM Kona and will be staffing the Awaken DTS this summer!
